Terms of service

Plain-language terms for a service that sells one radio code at a time. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Last updated Sep 10, 2026

01Who we are and what these terms cover

The Radio Code ("we", "us") operates theradiocode.com and supplies one digital service: radio unlock code recovery for a head unit you own. These terms apply every time you buy a code.

We do not sell VIN history reports or plate-to-VIN lookups on this site. Vehicle history reports live on pullvinreport.com. We never decode registration plates here, and we never return keeper or owner details.

We are an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, appointed by or licensed by any vehicle manufacturer or head unit manufacturer. Where we name a marque or a unit family, we do so only to describe what our service supports.

02Eligibility and owner-use basis

Radio unlock codes are supplied strictly for the recovery of a code for a head unit that you own, or that you are working on with the owner's authority. At checkout you confirm this, and we keep a record of that confirmation with the order.

We refuse categories of request outright, whoever is asking. Those categories are listed in our acceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms. If we believe a request falls into one of them we will cancel the order and refund it.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy from us.

03What we deliver, and when

Every code is delivered digitally and automatically. Once payment clears, your result is generated and shown on screen, and a copy is emailed to the address you gave us as a permanent link.

We aim to deliver within seconds. If the calculator is unavailable we will tell you on screen, and either complete the order when it recovers or refund you in full — your choice.

04Accuracy and the limits of what we can know

A radio unlock code is calculated from the serial you supply. If the serial is mistyped or belongs to a different unit family, the resulting code will not work. Check the characters carefully — a zero misread as the letter O is the most common cause of a failed code.

We are responsible for the accuracy of the code we calculate for the serial and family you submitted. We are not responsible for a unit that is faulty, water-damaged or locked out by earlier wrong guesses.

05Price, payment and taxes

Prices are shown in US dollars on the product page and again at checkout before you pay. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay; we do not add fees afterwards.

Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Where sales tax or VAT applies to your location it is calculated at checkout.

06Refunds and the accuracy guarantee

Money-back if a code is wrong. If a code we supply does not open your unit, contact us within 30 days and we will re-run the calculation, check the family against your label, and refund you in full if it still fails. Our refund policy sets out the detail and the narrow cases where a refund does not apply.

Because the code is digital and delivered immediately, the statutory right to cancel a digital purchase does not survive delivery. You are asked to acknowledge this at checkout. It does not affect the guarantee above.

07Acceptable use of the site

You may not scrape, resell, sub-licence, rate-limit-evade or automate access to our service without written permission. Each purchase entitles you to one code for one serial.

You may not use this site to harass, stalk, locate or identify a person. We do not sell plate lookups or keeper data, and we will terminate access where we believe a request is being used to target an individual.

08Liability

We provide our service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, the cost of removing or refitting a head unit, or damage caused while removing one. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud where that limitation would be unlawful.

09Changes, governing law and contact

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published when you place your order, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.

Questions, complaints and refund requests go to support@theradiocode.com, and we answer every one.
