How to find your Blaupunkt TravelPilot serial

TravelPilot units carry a Blaupunkt serial beginning BP alongside a Blaupunkt part number that starts with 7 6. We need the BP line, not the part number.

Where to look

In rough order of how little work each option takes on a TravelPilot unit.

  1. 01

    Label on the top of the chassis

    The white or silver label on the upper face lists a part number formatted like 7 612 300 000 and, on a separate line, a serial beginning BP. Copy the BP line.

  2. 02

    Service menu

    On many TravelPilot units, holding the traffic-info and mute buttons while switching on shows a diagnostic screen with the BP serial and the firmware revision.

Entering the code

However you got the four digits, this is how they go in.

    Power the unit up. It shows CODE or SAFE.

  2. 2

    Enter the four digits with the station preset buttons.

  3. 3

    Confirm with the source or OK button held for two seconds.

Tips from the workbench

  • Navigation variants often need the map DVD or SD card present before they accept a code.

  • Units branded for Opel may show a five-character serial on screen — that is the device ID, not the Blaupunkt serial we need.
